Just had a quick go at pushing the cpu a little , just for benchmarks.
No way a 24/7.
Seems like I have a chip that can run some pretty high clocks , needs a little tweeking to get more stable , ran my benchmarks fine but failed after 10 mins of prime95.
Back down again now.
All good fun

Thanks Dave,
After a fair bit of tweaking this evening I have managed to get it stable.
Obviously this is for my particular cpu and will vary.
Also I should add once again this is for benchmarking only and I will not be running it 24/7 ever due to the voltage required.
Settings are -
Vcore - 1.460
LLC - Ultra high
VRM fixed freq mode - 350
Phase control - Extreme
Duty cycle - Extreme
With these settings on a 30 min run on prime95 it hit a max temp of 82 degrees with my frio cooler.
Its high , but in reality how often is a cpu running 100% load for 30mins?
Anyway like I said before it was just for a bit of fun and to see how far the cpu would go.
Thats me done with that as I don't fancy a fried miniature beer mat.

Very nice OC.
Now to the daily OC, EIST enabled.
Would like to see what it runs at, full load and idle.

This is the daily overclock Dave , temps are very nice on full load mainly due to it requiring a lot less voltage at this speed.
Idle and Load pics below. Load pic is with prime95 running after 10 mins.

Looks good and cool temps.
The idle voltage is showing slightly higher than the load voltage.
Check your BIOS settings, it should have an idle voltage below 1v. somewhere around 0.8... volts.

Must admit that was bugging me Dave.
After a little research and a bit more tweaking I now have the following settings for voltage -
CPU Voltage mode - Offset + 0.005
As you can see by the shots, all is now perfect
Cheers
Paul.

MY first overclock, it may not be much but its still something.
Went form 3.1 GHz to a bit under 3.8 GHz. Seems's stable, ran prime95 numerous times without a hitch.
Tried a search through the thread but couldn't find anything. What is people's experience, if any, with overclocking the locked i5 2400?

Thanks. Yep, and put the bus up to 105, tried going further (seen people on the net putting it up to 107) but it became unstable.
Apart from that I changed a few voltages but nothing major. But the overclocking was extrdoinary easy, i thought it was going to be very time consuming and challenging. But it took less than a few minutes. Maybe I missed something....
Yours is the first I've seen.
Yeah, I've hadn't seen many people running Overclocked locked cpu's. I guess the people who buy these cpus have no intention in overclocking.
