Asus Radeon HD 7870 & Corsair A70

Custom-built PC
Specs

ATX: Asus M5A99XEVO
CPU: AMD FX-6200 (stock 3.8 GHz)
CPU Cooler: Corsair A70
GPU: Asus Radeon HD 7870 Direct CUII (stock clock)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4GBx2 1600MHz

So i've got this problem with both the GPU and the CPU cooler

GPU: The card works fine based on perfomance, but it overheats. On IDLE it would be at 45-50° C and when playing High perfomance games like BF3 it can reach all the way to 90°C!!! I bought the Asus version because i've read that they have one of the best Cooling systems in Graphic cards. My friend has the XFX version of the R HD 7870 and his card reaches max 40-45°C. Please help if you know how to solve this problem.

CPU Cooler: The Corsair A70 cools very well, but it's noisy as f*ck! I installed Speedfan, but I can't controll the Fan speed. Any ideas?

Do you have enough air flow ventilation ?

you need to have some of your case fans getting rid of the extra heat if you don't have enough fans get more to help get rid of the heat

Also do a custom fan speed through ccc

bring it up to atleast 60% it will be noisey but won't be hot as hell

also what are the temps like in your room ?

also update your drivers

they do often more then others effect how your card works in all ways

Cpu cooler check if it is seated correctly if not take it off clean cpu and cooler re apply paste and make sure it is on right in the middle and secured

If not your temps will go Beserk

I've got one 120mm fan blowing out air, and another blowing in. My room is about 25°C. The GPU fan is set on auto and when gaming, the fan speed reaches more than 60%, but still overheats. The GPU is the only thing in the case that gets that hot. I just updated the drivers that came yesterday... The CPU Cooler is installed properly and the CPU stays at 20°C idle, so no problem with that it's just that it's very noisy and I can't adjust the fan speed, with either AMD Overdrive or Speedfan, when I change the settings nothing happens... In my case the PSU is placed on top in the case, could this be the problem? And BTW when I overclock the CPU the Windows Aero effects disappear, and on stock it changes between 1404.67 MHz and 3800.1 MHz Why is this?

Asus Radeon HD 7870 & Corsair A70-hpim2113.jpgCorsair stock fans are the worst. Ditch them and run a silent quality fan ala Noctua in push pull and wide open on 12 volts and you will thank me for what you don't hear ! I would get two of these:
