Computers Submerged in Oil

This is something I stumbled upon some months ago, and while I'm not really planning to do it on my current rig, I'd like to know if something like that would make any sense or if it's better than water cooling (or standard air-cooling) somehow.

EDIT: sigh, noticed just now that there is another thread about oil bathing, here. Not that it has lots of posts, but maybe it's better to merge.

To answer your question is yes and no. Is it better then water........it's totally different but uses a inert mineral oil to carry heat away from all applicable components. It has obvious drawbacks and advantages. For me it's sealed water till I can graduate into the big leagues of multi-loop water.
Here's oil done large......

^ holy cow! whenever I find a few billion dollars of cash on the street I know where to invest the first 20k or so.

Their rigs can be customized way beyond bloody ridicolous overkill both stats and price-wise. I wonder if they manage to sell enough to stay afloat.

I know....but if/when I get some free cash (never happen with 4 kids and a wife) I'll be getting one of those monsters, just to say I've got one.

I wish their site would put up some pictures of it and a video of it while in normal user mode and benching it....

FWIW:

The un-washed who decide to submerse their computer in oil are in for a shock if they don't do a lot of studying, or their fans won't work properly.
