It is weird, isn't it? But it's always hot in there every time it happens.

I have the panel off entirely now so let's see how it fairs now.

How long has it been since you've gave your rig a good cleaning? A little coating of dust on components will generate quite a bit of heat.

Ballpark figure? Uh... let's say about 3 months, at minimum.

Hmm...that probably isn't long enough to build up an excess amount of dust. Unless where you live is dustier than usual, which is more of a concern in the summertime.

I took this last month so I had a record of max temps. They are pretty high, but after all it is an Ivy. This is as high as I'm going with the speed. I was trying 5.0 Ghz and kept getting BSOD on boot even at 1.340V. I do not want to get into the 1.4V range,so this is where I stop. Even though these temps are fairly high, under normal (gaming stress) conditions I'll never see these kinds of temps ,so I'm confident 4.8 Ghz/1.288V will be just fine for quite some time.

BTW,I was trying to run CineBench and the Open GL test keeps giving me an error. Not sure if maybe having the latest Nvidia driver (310.90) may be the problem?

Thanks
Greg

Great OC, indeed. And a low VID to boot!

As for my problem, which is at this point confirmed to be heat-related, is no longer a problem; took the panel off, started up Sleeping Dogs again and no anti-surge restart. Gonna have to monitor temperatures of everything and see what the culprit(s) could be.
