Windows 7: Air flow question

This might seem obvious to some but i want other peoples opinions on this the define r4 black pearl case can remove both HDD Bays if you remove the top bay and swap the stock intake fan at the front on the case for lets say a Corsair AF 140 Would it be Better Than a Corsair SP 120 Fan as a Intake with the Top HDD Drive cage removed?

Ascendents,
You may have to describe what configuration you're looking for. Are you worried about cooling and air flow, are the spec's listed the spec's going in this new case?

Looking at that case design I would leave the drive bays alone and as long as the fans are quite or speed controlled I'd leave them. If you want to increase air flow then purchase premium fans for all the locations and for sure add them to exhaust from the top. I would consider a sealed water cooler for the CPU as well and then get a fan for the side panel intake and you're good as gold on this case.

Yes mate go with linne and personally I prefer Coolermaster Silent Blue fans for quietness and airflow.

AF stands for air flow and are focused on brining in as much air as possible
SP stands for static pressure and are suppose to be used on radiators, so you want to go with the AF

I have Blue too how i miss those 2000 rpm CoolerMaster Fans

I have the Green one's too called Sickle flow those or the Sythe Mugen fans are the way to go

Yes, I think so if I understand you correctly. The AF fans don't have much static pressure so as long as there isn't HDD obstructing it I think the 140mm would be better. If you kept the cage and populated with HDD, I would recommend the SP instead.

I've switched my case to more of a positive air flow and the temps are around the same and regarding dust it's about the same as well. To me with these bigger rigs the dust just happens as they have so many openings and possible fan placements and if you filter them too fine they block all air flow. This is why I take my case outside and blow it out at least quarterly if not every other month. With my radiator I'm flat amazed at the dust that comes off it !

Yeah well mine are all Coolermasters for efficiency and quietness and I am a big fan of positive pressure to avoid that problem with the small gaps.

However having said that there is no way known to man unless you have the case hermetically sealed with dedicated ducts in and out that you will avoid dust in the machine for example at rest gravity will invarably creep it in for you an unless you have some super fine particulate filter say as for fumes or the ones they use in operating theatres you are going to get dust and like linne says you cannot avoid having to have a clean out. That needs to be done as a regular operation as dust will compat on warm and statically charged surfaces.
