I'm upgrading the gpu so will that let the CPU use its full potential. Like I still find it weir that it dissent even clock up when I loaded chrome. That's not a bottleneck cause by the GPU.
Turbo is engaged when one thread is being used 100% to increase performance in single threaded applications, while games do not utilize 4 core completely, they do not run on just one thread either. its a dual core cpu....
so that means that while playing games, its only going to max at 2.93ghz?

But then again, someone already mentioned that since the GPU is being maxed then it is taking load off the CPU, and the CPU might seem it unnecessary to increase the frequency, have in mind that turbo boost is smart and depending on the CPU limitations it will calculate how high it can increment the frequency.
Perhaps if you tried an application that requires a lot more CPU power you could see how it behaves. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop OS Windows 7 professional X64 CPU AMD A10-5800K OC@ 4.4Ghz. When I open firefox (which is more of a resource hog than chrome) and am navigating/watching videos/posting on forums. My CPU usage barely changes.
Then again, I have turbo boost disabled in favor of having all 4 cores of my CPU sit at 4.3GHZ all the time. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop OS Windows 7 professional X64 CPU AMD A10-5800K OC@ 4.4Ghz. Normal behaviour. yes. but it dosent do that when it should. like when bfbc2 is up, its locked in 2.93, wont spike to 3.2 any more. other games too. i mean i guess theres nothing wrong with it but still | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Build OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU AMD FX 4300 @ 4.0 GHZ Motherboard MSI 970A-G43 Memory 4Gb DDR3 1600mhz Graphics Card PNY GTX 560 Ti OC Edition Sound Card Realtek ALC892 Monitor(s) Displays 20" Hanns-G HL203 Screen Resolution 1600x900 Keyboard Logitech K360 LE Mouse Rocketfish Nano PSU Dynex ATX 520W Case Blackwidow Athena Cooling Stock CPU Cooler / 140mm Intake / 120mm Exhaust Hard Drives Seagate 320GB 7200RPM HDD Internet Speed 14MB/s Down 8MB/s Up Other Info Dell Studio 1458 Laptop Setup:

100% CPU and GPU100% are not normal behaviour.
You need to understand that the system will only provide as much power as it thinks it needs, not as much power as you think it needs. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop OS Windows 7 professional X64 CPU AMD A10-5800K OC@ 4.4Ghz.
