Coolent System I live in Puerto Rico, needless to say it's always warm or hot during the months of May to October.
I had 2 computers now I'm down to one. I kept over heating my computers always changing the hard drive
on one and the other just gave out all together. I don't live in an air conditioned place where the PC"s are.
What I have been doing for the last year is, I removed the side cover of the PC ans have a directly pointed
at the inside of the PC. This has kept the temp's at a reasonable temp. But I worry about the dust that I'm
getting inside the PC. I have put extra fans in the PC but it does not lower the temp. below 135*f on a good day and the CPU get up over 165*F .
The desktop I have is a small form factor, that does not help matters.
Does anyone have any idea's how I can cool my PC, either home built or on the market product.
While my PC was under warranty they switched my HD twice and MOBO once.

A better case would help, as you mentioned, the small form factor doesn't lend to adequate cooling in your environment. Does your PC actually malfunction, throttle itself back, or shut down because of the heat.......or just run hot? There are several cooling methods you could use, most start with a case with good airflow, and some high quality fans. As far as the CPU, you could get an aftermarket cooler, either air or closed loop water cooler, and that should help keep those temps down.
Let us know what you are open to and we can work with that. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Windows 7 Professional 64bit SP1 CPU Intel Core i5-3570K @ 4.5GHz Motherboard Asus Sabertooth Z77 Memory Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4) @1866MHz Graphics Card Intel HD4000 Sound Card Onboard Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell S2309W Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Max Nighthawk X8 Mechanical keyboard Mouse Logitech MX 500 Wired PSU Seasonic X750 80+ Gold Full Modular Case Antec Eleven Hundred Super Mid Tower Cooling Intel Liquid Cooler Hard Drives Samsung 830 128GB SSD - OS

I have a Acer Aspire and I can't seem to get a larger case for it.
For one thing it has this very small power unit , that I was told could not
be changed. I don't know how true is that. But I would be willing to change the
case and put a larger power unit. Since I have always wanted to put it a better
Graphics card. Can you recommend a case? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Acer Aspire X3910 & HP Pavilion a6334f OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64x and 32x CPU Acer: Intel Pentium E5700 HP: Core 2 Duo E4500 Memory Acer: 4 GB HP: 3 GB Graphics Card Acer: Integrated HP: Integrated Sound Card Acer: Integrated HP: Integrated Monitor(s) Displays Sceptre 21" Screen Resolution 1440x900 Cooling Both: CPU Fan Hard Drives Acer: WD Caviar Blue 640 GB WD6400AAKS-22A7B2

RalphG,
Maybe the best direction is starting to save and design a ground up new build with a topflight case with sealed water cooling for the CPU and plenty of fans and fan filters. We can help you as you may run into issues taking your Acer mobo out and placing it in another case as most Mfg'r. design them for the case that it comes with so you cant upgrade later. Pictures or a mobo model number would help determine where you stand. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number A blend of brains, brawn and dumb luck, ask me about rig #2 ! Thanks for the reply.
However, being a Vet disabled funds are scarce.
I have enclosed the service manual I found on the net, had to split it
in three parts.
As you can see the power is woefully low. but would like to try and
move it ti a larger case. so I can put a better graphic card and PSU.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Acer Aspire X3910 & HP Pavilion a6334f OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64x and 32x CPU Acer: Intel Pentium E5700 HP: Core 2 Duo E4500 Memory Acer: 4 GB HP: 3 GB Graphics Card Acer: Integrated HP: Integrated Sound Card Acer: Integrated HP: Integrated Monitor(s) Displays Sceptre 21" Screen Resolution 1440x900 Cooling Both: CPU Fan Hard Drives Acer: WD Caviar Blue 640 GB WD6400AAKS-22A7B2

Ralph,
Can you provide pictures of the inside of the computer? Maybe you can add a sealed water cooler system and just run it to the 120mm fan on the back of the case if it has one. Pictures will also tell me if the IO ports and mobo are standard or proprietary laid out. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number A blend of brains, brawn and dumb luck, ask me about rig #2 ! Ralph, I would recommend any of the Cooler Master HAF cases for your situation. The best 2 are the HAF X and the HAF 932, you will not have to worry about air flow. Any ATX Power Supply will fit them, but I would recommend a good quality one. Never save on the PSU. They are not small form factor cases, so any motherboard would fit. The only issue you would have is finding the wiring schematic for the front panel connectors. As linnemeyerhere and Kbrady said, a good closed loop water cooler would be great and without a doubt, better than what you have now.
