I'm new to this is my overclock safe

I have an FX-8350 overclocked to 4.8mhz

settings i have done

multiplex 20.00

cpu voltage 1.500

I will put images in with this thread i also ran a cpu test where it use's 100% all cores for 1 min

We usually use something like Prime95 for stress testing and for preliminary testing you need to let it run for 30 minutes to 1 full hour. I personally like RealTemp 3.70 for temps, but some have had issues with it and AMD CPU's. Stress your system for 30 min - 1 hour and monitor the temps. If everything is looking good and you have no issues, you can continue on for a longer amount of time. For a 24/7 stable overclock, I personally recommend 12-24 hours of continuous testing.

Would you say currently the temps look okay

I don't know because I don't trust the software you are using to monitor them. I do know there is no way all of your CPU cores are exactly the same temperature.

well to be honest voltage is high and you are using CCC I doubt it is truly stable you should be able to hit 5 Ghz with that v core here is a snip of my specs you have he same board why aren't you using the bios to over clock you will get much better results

im no good with the bios thanks for your specs i will try in the bios

Let me give you some specs to adjust but can't promise you they will work the same

AI Tweeker in Bios Change Cpu turbo disabled core control auto

LLC settings for both HIGH load line calibration

Power phase optimized

Power delivery Fast on both

HT when adjusting memory from FSB overclocking it will make this go up you want to keep this between 2400-2600 you can go a little higher but would recommend you stay with in there

As far as the V-core goes if you feel safe jumping back into the oc like you have it then try my voltages at 1.47-1.488 v-core it kinda flexes between the two but more or less 1.488

NB voltage I bumped up .2 volts to stabilize it

all or most other settings leave on auto you can leave the memory unlinked so you can use the HT to make it perform better

make sure to keep spread spectrum off if i left anything out just PM me and we'll figure it out

Thank You i have got it stable on 4.5 mhz which is okay cant say its the best but it works i just changed the bus and voltage

Ok that is good but like I said more settings then just voltage bumps and bus speeds you need to check out a few tutorials on how this is done here is a Video on overclocking with ASUS AI tweeker

the second video the guy is pretty much on but I do have my own way to overclock but he seems to be pretty much legit with this review

there is only single core sensor that is why unlike Intel that has a sensor for all cores

thought i would reply to this again from my water cooling thread reason for new Watercoolant is i have had it awhile

temps were inconclusive amd overdrive said to cores were 190c-290-c which if that was right bang nothing would work and i had the pc set to shutdown at 60c

used other software everything was fine temps were A OKAY

Yes perfectly fine

Thing is the amd overdrive would report that cores 1-2 are 190c- 290c and all the rest would be fine so I can safely conclude that the temp reader is showing rubbish

Plus it would even say 0.16c on care 1 rest would be normal

I have previously checked the CPU nothing wrong that was my excuse to renew the thermal paste

looks good but I never trusted speedfan

Hardware Monitor and Core temp are very on point your oc looks good as well anything over 4.6 ghz will need 1,46 1,47 why not try bringing the multi down one and boost the bus a little more AMD chips feed off of the FSB but only do it if you have memory with headroom to do so

Keep in mind as well bumping the bus bumps the HT so you will have to lower it if you decide to use a little more FSB
