Windows 7: Overclock questions

If i overclock my cpu and ram i will get more fps in gaming?

q6600 G0 (9x266) 2400@3200 (6x400)

Ram Kyngston HypeX 800mhz 5-5-5-15@960mhz 5-5-5-15

OR

I need just to Overclock my 1GB GDDR5 ATI Radeon 4890oc Edtition?

OR

I need to overclock ALL together?

you'll see more of an FPS boost OCing the CPU rather than the GPU, i personally try to steer clear of OCing GFX cards.....they're built with very tight tolerances, & a few extra mhz will usually amount to a lot of heat with the reference cooler.

but there's nothing stopping you trying, the 4890 has been seen to OC pretty well.

you should be good for 3.6ghz with your H/W

depending on your Q6600 and what type of CPU cooler you have. 3.6 is possible. but any bought in the last year Q6600's seem to be poor overclockers..

get a program called Core Temp and tell me what is says under VID for your chip. also is it a B3 or a G0 stepping?

3.2 or 3.4 Ghz should be doable and you need a aftermarket cpu cooler. This will help in games that are more CPU dependant.

also your 4890 will perform better with a faster processor, the slow CPU speed is probably limiting the GPU as of now. even just going to 3.0 Ghz would help and probably be enough

I was looking through your System Specs and noticed your sweet O/C on that 750i chipset.

Im hoping you can help me figure out how to get my Q9400 up to 3Ghz or maybe a little higher.
I've done some research on it and found that the 750i can be a pain to overclock.

Im wondering if your EVGA bios made it easier to overclock or am i able to use your settings on my XFX board.

any info will be greatly appreciated

Hello, community. I have a problem with my Hyper X module 4GB/2 in a DP965LT [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]Intel[/COLOR][/COLOR] Motherboard with windows 7 64bits installed. The problem I'm having is that anytime I have the hyper x placed in the motherboard, it gets really slow and the system takes a long time to start-up. I though it was the memory the first time, so I got new ones and installed again, and again the same problem. However, this problem did not occurred when I had install a normal DDR2 memory of two gigs. When I have [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]win [COLOR=blue !important]XP[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR] installed with the hyper X, I did not have any trouble. Have you heard about this issue? any comments or help you can bring me?
