so i tried upping FSB to 350 to get a 3.017 no go raised voltage still nothing raised Voltage more and more to 1.30000 nothing so tomorrow im gana go back to the 2.97 and try to get the ram from 840 closer to 1066 and stay with the 2.975 i know this is gana sound nuts but i see a deference so much that i stop watched it 2.83 with ram at 1066 boot is a total of just under 21 seconds 2.975 with the ram at 840 total of just over 16 seconds | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom built by myself OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit CPU Intel Core 2 quad Q9550 2.83 12 MB Cache 95 Watt OC to 3.4 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P Rev 1.6 Socket 775 Running 1600 FSB Memory 4 GB Patriot Viper II 1066 2X2GB Memory PV224G8500ELKB Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT GV-N95TOC-1GI overclocked to 650 MHz Sound Card Realtec HD on board Monitor(s) Displays LG W2053TQ Screen Resolution 1600X900 Keyboard Dell Quietkey (POS) Mouse GE PS2 Optical PSU Ultra LSP750 750-Watt Case Leadertek FX626 or Foxconn FX-626BKH Cooling Cool Master V-8 (its Big),1 80 MM Fan and 2 92 MM Fan Hard Drives Hatchi 160 GB SATA II System drive

I'm running the Q9550 and I set my FSB speed to 400 and turned off the 0.5x multiplier value so that it is 8.0 instead of 8.5. That means, 400 x 8.0 = 3,200mhz, with no voltage increases on the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R Rev 1.1 and I'm doing it on stock cooling with almost no increase in temps from stock. This keeps my DDR2-800 RAM running at 1:1 with the CPU and everything is just fine. I didn't even try to go any higher....so not sure on potential.
I run at about 34 celcius at idle and get around 60 at full load. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

You might want to give this a read: HOWTO: Overclock C2Q (Quads) and C2D (Duals) - A Guide v1.1 - Overclockers Forums
All the PX5 series boards are really good overclockers... very stable too. Pretty much all you have to do these days is set your RAM timings and let her rip. Don't worry about your RAM blowing up at 1066MHz, just make sure you have the correct voltage and all will be good. | My System Specs | | OS 7 Ultimate x64 CPU i5-2500k Motherboard Asus P8P67 Pro Memory 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-12800CL7D-8GBXH 1866MHz 8-9-8-24 Graphics Card EVGA GTX 570 SC Sound Card X-Fi Titanium Fatality Monitor(s) Displays Samsung S27A550H 27" LED Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard MS Natural Elite 4000 Ergonomic Mouse Logitech G500 PSU PC Power & Cooling Silencer 760 Case Lian Li Lancool K62 Cooling Thermalright Venomous X Black/Scythe S-Flex/Shin-Etsu X23 Hard Drives OCZ Vertex 3 120GB.
