This is very true.

Yes it would be nice to have the latest and greatest, but, like you said, it has most of the performnce and after looking at some comparison benchie charts (Games mind), the 980x on stocl was not much better anyway, think 2 - 4 fps.

And after this, i dont think i have paid over the 300 mark, even my Quad 9300 only cost 250.

Exactly always interesting to see before during and after and with a steady hand, close up camera settings and good lighting you can use these shot for all sorts of reference without opening up the system.
1) Close up of CPU without cooler, will clearly show sn and other mfg. info when and if needed later.
2) Sata and internal routing, gives good idea's later for cleaning up wire routing for rarely does the perfect routing occur on first try!
3) Mobo close up and overview, again gives an idea of headers used/open, fan headers open/used and other settings.
4) Close ups of drives and behind mobo wiring, again for ideas on where things are routed to.
5) Gets your complete computer geek on ! lol
Cheers and good luck !

Recommendations for NAS
After concluding that I cannot afford an LTO-5 tape backup (who can?) and learning that BDXL Blu-Ray is just too darned tricky, I have settled on the obvious - a NAS. OK, now here's my problem. Every NAS seems to get both positive and negative reviews, the negative ones I believe to be coming...

I'm going to be doing a new build in the near future. I would like some recommendations as to how much RAM I will need. Here is the setup/ideas I have for what my computer to be capable of: LCD 1080p 3 monitors (Maybe in the 27" range, maybe a 3D monitor) Monitor #1: TV/Recording (I have...

I think the last computer game I actually spent hours playing was SimTower or SimFarm...yes, it has been a LONG time. I loved Halo on XBOX but am not really into FPSs and have tried Halo on PC but feel it a little awkward. I'm pretty sure things like World of Warcraft are out of the question...The...
HDD Recommendations
I need a couple of new HDs for a secondary rig that I'm equipping, and that should be simple enough, but when browsing the choices, I start getting confused. This is primarily due to the pricing of various sizes are so close together. For instance, I can get a new SG 500GB like I have now for...
