If you look at your monitors specs, it doesn't physically have more pixels than the res you're using now.

these are the video signals my tv supports, I think it should work fine at 720p or 1080p resolution. I'll try HDMI 1.3 cable, that might help
I have an i5 750 and I changed my BCLK from 133x20 to 166x20 and I've been running absolutely fine for a while now (I underclocked when I saw issues arise but it was memory issues causing BSODs)
