So did you find out what the problem is? From your last post in the other thread you were going to put the multimeter to it.

I checked it, and it came out clean. I am going to give thermaltake a call tomorrow and see what they say.

They don't tell you several vital bits such as he room ambient temp, as it was in a commercial office chances are it was cool and as mentioned in free space the cards in Tri SLi don't super heat the case and CPU air like in a regular setup lastly they don't mention the actual temps they hit. But none the less it was impressive and the mobo and bios are almost equally as impressive as the chip. Me, I'm pulling fro the little guy's as in the true spirit of competition the harder AMD pushes Intel and vice a versa the better we consumers have it and the more choices we have......all great things. Bulldozer should be ready for launch soon, stay tuned !

    Competition is good.

Could you you imagine what a Intel CPU would cost if there was no AMD?
Or the price of a AMD chip if Intel was not in existence?

Not only that, how would they perform if there was no competition.

My guess is that wed be paying much more for, for much less.

Same for GPUs with ATI VS Nvidia.

I do agree with everyones points about the heat etc. being made.
I do find it quite impressive still, the setup was able to even hit those clocks on air though.

When I build mine, I would likely just do a mild OC, just as I do now for 24/7 use.
I seriously doubt Id run an OC like that for any length of time..

Likely will be may or June before I build my new PC, but Im thinking I want a board with the UEFI bios setup.
Maybe Gigabyte will have one by then :)

Stick a H70 on that puppy and all the case fans you can run and you'll be clocking mid four's or high four's 24/7. The Sandy's sound great and I'm sure there will be tons here shortly.

The H70 was one I was considering too :)

Will Probably keep my Antec900 case though ... although a new case would be tempting.

Guess I'll just have to see how much I can save up by May or so.
    New GPU first though :)

    Stop.

Not all titles play nicely with Crossfire (sometimes they can break games until patched/new drivers) and Crossfire bugs can be an absolute PITA. Not to mention the added noise of a second card.

Oh, and the 5xxx series still scales badly.

    Any more?

I'm so interested in building up a Sandy Bridge system. Unfortunately my current box is only 18 months old...but I'm considering selling it off to somebody and building something new. This new CPU is awesome and would be a solid upgrade from my Q9550...plus I could get a fancier video card and a slightly smaller case. Of course, i could just stick to what I have as well...it's pretty darn solid and very reliable. Oh why oh why, does money and time have to be limited.

    Smarteyeball,
What a buzz kill. Is this all from personal first hand experience? I'll have to get more feedback before purchasing a second R5770 but from what I see of the one I'd like to give another a try. Oh and the beta Catalyst is working great with my gear. But I respect your opinion and will do some more research.
