    Welcome Kirwan to SF,
As noted by Anthony it all starts with a detailed description of your components, without it we do more of a disservice than a service ! I use SIW and CPU-Z as reference tools and they can help with the process. Many other free software programs can give these details as well.

Not if you already know the make(s) and model number(s) of all your hardware... which is a prerequisite to overclocking. Since you're not sure, instead of trying to find out how to overclock your cpu, I'd research how the rest of your system (once you find out) can handle overclocking. It's more than worth the little time it takes to do the research.

Most important is the motherboard make and model. It is your motherboards BIOS that will determine whether and what you can do overclocking wise.

Yes, keep in mind if this is a dell, hp, or compaq made machine odds on overclocking options in the bios are not very high.

Just tried to look up the board on ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-
Their are so many different versions your missing some letters/numbers
    P5P41C
    P5P41D
    P5P41T
    P5P41T LE
    P5P41T PLUS
    P5P4 1T/USB3
    P5P41TD
    P5P43T
    P5P43TD PRO
    P5P43TD/USB3

So I would suggest downloading cpuid CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

And Speccy hardware information program Speccy - Download
    Or |MG| HWiNFO32 3.67 Download

Then once you know your exact motherboard model number go to the ASUS site and download the manual and look in the bios section it will give you an idea of what bios settings you have and what can be changed.

Your going to be looking for things like changing the CPU multiplier/voltages/ and secondly your going to need to change your Ram timings to get the most out of an overclock.
