Need help to overclock / Easy tune 6

I don't think you fully understand. Overclocking is LITERALLY an individual process. You CANNOT just copy someones settings and have it work. Yes, it is possible it will, but more likely it won't.

The reason for this is that CPUs are made in batches. Each batch generally gets the same settings, but even within this batch, each chip is unique. One chip in the batch may be able to get a 100% OC, while another can barely hit 10%.

Overclocking is a delicate process that should ONLY be done through the BIOS by hand.

I'll also add that listing system specs "might" get someone interested in helping you. Without them, it's like asking someone to provide tips for tuning up your car without telling them what engine you have

And telling me you have a Gigabyte board is not the same as stating that it's a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 rev 1, BIOS F6 for example.

And Lordbob is 100% right, which is another reason why you need to 1 - know exactly what you have, and 2 - list them (system specs)

If I have this,.. I will push it until 3,8ghz
cooled with thermolab baram should enough to use it daily

I posted on a board specialized on overclocking and the problem wasq a corrupt registry due to bad install/removal

after cleaning registry manually and reinstalling easy tune 6 now everything works, I run it at 3.44GHz (8x430) and the air coming out is still cold

I can play Silent Hill 3 on PCSX2 at full speed

I still say don't use EasyTune, but that is your choice.

I'm glad you figured it out, that should have been something we thought of.

don't forget to see your task manager and look around how much easy tune resources

OC from BIOS are the best way
Except you have enough electrical ability to shorting some line in your procie (hardware overclocking)

The guy has 4 gig of RAM. Even if the program used a 100MB I doubt it's going to kill him.

@ Read Only - that's impressive that you got to 3.4 gig on a Q6600. I could only get mine stable at 2.9. Most got theirs stable at a little over 3 gig.

- Have you run prime95 for any lengh of time?
- What were your load temps?
- What CPU Cooler are you using?
