How did you apply the thermal compound?

And which way do you have the fans blowing through the radiator?

Best way I found to apply thermal paste to i7s is a vertical line down the middle. That way when the heatsink gets mounted, the paste is spread equally over all 4 cores (due to the core layout).

Are your fans drawing air in from outside the case, or blowing air out the case? If they're blowing air out, then you gotta think the radiator is having hot air from inside the case blowing through it, which isn't gonna be great for temps.

I've never used a Hxx cooler, so I can't really recommend setups.

Best to have used thermal paste that comes with the cooler it is excellent stuff. Applying your own in most cases causes exactly whhat has happened to you HIGHER temps.

This is going to be my next dare I say compound.....no ETI actually. This stuff is off the hook amazing, please follow directions and be prepared to watch the temps fall like no other thermal paste!

I've read about that before. Looks cool. Good thing about it is it doesn't matter too much about heatsink-CPU contact as it fills in all gaps itself unlike normal compounds. Pricey though for something that gives 2-3C difference against something like MX-2.

Plus you only get 2 in a pack. Mess up the first time and that's $10 down the drain.
