    Complete Noob

Hello everyone when it comes to overclocking I am a complete noob. So please bare with me, I have an i5 2500k and an ASUS P8P67 I only want to hit about 4GHZ and Im running on a Coolermaster Hyper 212 plus cooler.

I read that all I need to do is change the multiplier to times 40 is this correct and how do I do this within the ASUS bios

    THANKS, Matthew

actually I think it would be 38 or 39 to just hit 4.
Not a huge increase since it's default multiplier is 33.

I suggest downloading and reading at length the manual for your motherboard before starting overclocking.
You need to know how to reset if things go wrong, and you need a understanding of the basic overclocking settings it provides, even the ones you don't plan on using.

This here is a good guide but please, please...read up on OC'ing before trying!!

P67 Sandy Bridge Overclocking Guide For Beginners

As Maguscreed said read your manual!
    Then read the Guide!

All OC's are different so don't just copy someone's settings.

And as always use this info and guide " At Your Own Risk "
