Just my 2 cents worth. Your MB manual should also have a QVL "Qualified Vendors List" of memory vendors, and speeds. These are sticks tested and known to work well with your motherboard. So it might be worth your while to see what ASUS suggests when it comes to choosing your memory.
Could help eliminate a possible problem.
