    Spring Cleaning 2010

Yesterday was Spring Cleaning 2012 - a good time for updated pics.
Yes, I still have dust! Looks like a lot of work coming up to clean all those fan blades.

Cable Management - I chose not to run my wiring from inside to outside and then back to the inside. I felt the space between the right side and the cover was too small. My case lets me run the sata disk drive wiring directly to the devices from the back side of the disk drive rack. I like having the inside and the right side both to be as clean as possible. I did try it the other way up to the point where I couldn’t get the cover on the right side. I must say, though, there are plenty of very clean rigs in these posts.

Cooling and Performance - At idle, my CPU runs at 33°C and my GPUs run at 30°C. I've
never seen the CPU over 58°C, even when OCed to 4.0, running 3 instances of Convert XtoDVD, using all 8 cores at highest. 3 different movies finished in 22+ minutes. 7 1/2 minutes per movie. I pushed 8 cores at 4.0, time critical, to 5 minutes 40 seconds for a 1.5GB mkv conversion. My PIII 1000 used to take up to 3 1/2 HOURS for a 700MB conversion. I routinely convert movies in under 10 minutes while performing other tasks. The GPUs aren't pushed that hard in their daily use, so, for now, I don't have any heat issues with them. But I do love my G-Force Visualization on 3 monitors. You have to have 2 GPUs with SLI or Crossfire for that. I love nVidia!

Event Viewer: Boot Time - 46.484 seconds. Shut Down Time - 9.082 seconds.

Dust is such a pain in the arse. I hate how it cakes to fan blades. It slows and disrupts the air flow and clogs the fins on all coolers. I use a air compressor and paint brushes as well as twice a year a slew of moist q-tips to clean the blades. I wish I could get a quality fan that ran silent and it's blades would be removable so you could just run it under water with soap, dry and re-install. I would fill my case with them...are you listening Noctua???

Then I would have to buy more monitors. And a place to put them. But, the thought has crossed my mind.

yup it will do the job nicely. tis just a shame that i can only run 2 fans on it due to space in my case. im already using a h50 which believe it or not is doing a pretty decent job for now. i am running push/pull on it tho and my temps r pretty good. idle 35/37 load 45c(BF3) 52c intel burn test so the h100 should bring temps down some more
