Don't worry, will be doubly sure...will test it on my dad's laptop first! Need to get the card reader, my organisation is failing me so I haven't got it yet! Also, I have exams so will be busy so i don't know when I will be able to do it, also need to build an external wifi antenna...the list goes on. I do like to mod my laptop! It will end up in a pile of smoke but hey, lets not think about that too much!

Oh that's a great idea testing it on Dad's laptop first. Maybe a better idea would be to go into a Best Buy or the like and test it there and if you see smoke run like hell?

Haha, well, I am in the UK and we don't do it like that lol! No, my dad wants a new laptop, his boss says he has to wait another year, I am sure he won't mind if it goes bang! It will be interesting and I will keep you guys updated when I get round to doing it.

Seems like an awful lot of trouble to go to since you can buy a ready made 72 in one external reader.

Use Google for your area, Newegg has some for <$20 or so.
I spent about 3 hours building a cable with two blue LEDS in it to light my case inside. Found out later I can buy one 1M long, several LEDS for about $14.
