Wondering what some safe temps for laptops would be?

I closely monitor the temps for my new laptop and was wondering what temps you guys are getting? Sitting idle on the desktop i get around 50-55°C. While play some not soooo graphics intensive games online (League of Legends) i get up to around 80°C. So are these temps pretty normal and what temps are you guys showing?

Shows your max temp at 100C, so 80C is quite hot. Set the laptop on something to allow air under it or get a cooling pad to set it on while gaming.

My i7 2720QM idles at low to mid 40's. Granted it's a different laptop with differnet cooling, but that is a bit warm for idle.

With a high idle, a high load temp is not surprising.

As Britton suggested elevate the laptop (don't block the intake fan/holes) and grab a cooling pad.

Those temps aren't currently 'dangerous', but they aren't great for the chips longevity.
