Wondering what some safe temps for laptops would be?

I closely monitor the temps for my new laptop and was wondering what temps you guys are getting? Sitting idle on the desktop i get around 50-55C. While play some not soooo graphics intensive games online (League of Legends) i get up to around 80C. So are these temps pretty normal and what temps are you guys showing?

Shows your max temp at 100C, so 80C is quite hot. Set the laptop on something to allow air under it or get a cooling pad to set it on while gaming.

My i7 2720QM idles at low to mid 40's. Granted it's a different laptop with differnet cooling, but that is a bit warm for idle.

With a high idle, a high load temp is not surprising.

As Britton suggested elevate the laptop (don't block the intake fan/holes) and grab a cooling pad.

Those temps aren't currently 'dangerous', but they aren't great for the chips longevity.

Wondering about my temps....
OLD: Hi all, I have a couple questions on my temps. Computer built in the last 2 months. No dust, I checked. A little worried. I have built a couple of PC's before, but never a high performance Rig like this one. So I do not know what temps are good or bad. I would assume anything in the 100...

Are there any Windows laptops with a "Mag Safe" power connector?
I badly need a new Windows laptop but I would really like a Mag Safe type power connector - so that a bit too much pressure accidentally applied to the external part of the power connector will not break the motherboard, and yes this is the voice of experience speaking! I am aware of the MS Surface...

920 core temps, am I safe?
OC'd from 2.67 to 4.61, ran all the stress tests, FLAWLESS. One thing that concerns me is the temperature of the cores under load. Idle = 45 C on all 4. Load = 75 C on all 4. Steady, no changes. BTW, never a crash (program, windows), weirdness, or any anomalies. Thoughts?
