A few comparison points:

Pentium 90, circa 1995: 35 minutes.

Pentium 3 at 733 mhz: 3 minutes 42 seconds

PC world record may 24, 2006, 11.359 seconds with a Conroe 2.66 overclocked to 4.470

Intel 2600K at 5.5 GHz: 6.786 seconds.
