This thread has been very good for my self-esteem. It's nice to discover that I'm not the only sick and deeply disturbed individual in the world.

Well, just who do you think this thread was made for?

The sick and deeply disturbed, I'd say.

They're all here, at any rate.

Let it be known that you are not the first to have called me sick or deeply disturbed, or both at the same time. But, we build computers as our big boy toys. Pray tell me what good a toy is if you can't play with it. If that makes me sick and deeply disturbed, I guess all of the children in the world are too.

I sent back my P8Z68-V Gen3 and exchanged it for the P8Z68-V PRO version. Unfortunately I left the back plate for my Hyper EVO cooler on it.
So I was forced to use the Intel "cooler".
Temps are idling on the destop.

So, what do you think about wattage? It passed the whole test. I got a temporary cooler, Hyper TX-3, and its doing better than Intel's, still runs hot though, better cooler on the way.

The ridiculous reading lasted only a few seconds and went to normal, 55-65 range.

I think it's a fluke from CoreTemp, look at the CPU it has listed.
