What Limit should I put on Ocking my AMD 965 X4 (3.4 GHx)?

    Hi all

I want to overclock my CPU. I have good cooling Corsair A50 keeps it at about 34 DegC.

I am using AMD Overdive (I think I know what I am doing with it).

But I, obviously, don't wasnt to fry my chip.

So what speeds are doable and what would be silly?

I know it's a muddy subject if you aren't with the machine itself.

Say I went to 4.00 GHz... would I be insane? Even the temps stayed low?

    Kind regards in advance

With my H100 water I was able to get 4.0-4.2 all day long. You should have no problems simply adding the multiplier and netting 3.9-4.1 but watch your temps and stability. Don't use AMD overdrive but learn your bios settings and find the CPU multiplier option.

Agreed 965BE OC better with multiplyer and most likly will NOT need a voltage bump it will do 4GHZ easy on stock voltage
