yeah there is no win in trying to kill something for the sake of

like i said before if i can get it stable at 4.6 ghz under current voltages i think i am good to go

Im completly awesome right now this chip defently will beat some of the other chips out there AMD finally got a good result out of this one

If they would have done this with Bulldozer from the jump and then improved the ICP better then what Piledriver offers now hell this chip would totally be competition with intel

@Ryan, That is a Great winsat score, I just ran it on my Intel system with 16GB 2133 GSKill sniper and it is 28902. You have it set up well mate!

I used to use AMD CPUs, they were much better than the old P4s. Then Intel decided to focus on real performance with the Core line up while AMD just on more GHz. Now I have read AMD will spend more time on GPU performance and less on CPU, I find that sad.

@solar totally agree mate, if they were getting free cpu's for testings sake then it would be a different story but they just buy a few n ick the good ones out of em. then sell the rest. dont think id like one of their old chips lol
looks like piledriver is what bulldozer was meant to be then. nice that ur getting such good results chap.

@britton cheers chap, yup it runs nice i don't know anything about the older cpu's as ive only owned 3 in my whole 2 years of pc use. all 3 were AMD though
i've still not bothered pushing my cpu at all really. i think the most ive run it at so far is 4.3Ghz @ 1.344v ish but i just keep it at 4.0 most of the time and just have a mess ere n there when i'm bored. i've not oc'd the memory at all yet but no doubt i'll get around to playing some more. now i've got my rig how i wanted it (except ive gone the dark side with gpu) and i know everything is stable, its good to go.
my board does'nt like the cpu/nb over 2.4 and seems better with the ht link freq at 2.0. eventhough stock is a lot higher i think.

I think we've decided an overclock doesn't=performance anyway, only the numbers we like to brag about, lol.

Gary, does that mean you've reset yours back to defaults?

Well I'm running my CPU at 3.08 with 3.4 Turbo is a tad OC'ed. Vcore at 0.88 idle it will never overheat.
It will go to 3.8 plus whatever Turbo boost and is stable but I can't tell a bit of difference in usage.

Bios had 3 setttings for Ram so I stepped up the Ram from 1440 at 1.5v to 1682 at 1.65v and I notice no difference in use.
Winsat mem went up about 1000 points.

It stays cool works great so why mess with perfection.

Because it's fun and I enjoy a challenge. As a famous 'philosopher' once said "A man's got to know his limitations".
