Show Us Your Rig [4]

Thank you guys! These upgrades cost me an arm and a leg but they were sure worth it! No going out on Friday nights for the next 4 months hehe :P The next upgrade I am thinking about is going SLI with my Nvidia GTX 660. I already have one, might as well get another Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 660. I bet that would blow away this rig :) My psu has an extra cable just waiting :) Although this mobo can't do SLI Nvidia, shucks.

Dude let me tell you, the SSD hype is real. I wasn't sure how fast these things were, but once I installed a vanilla copy of WIN 7 and I rebooted, I didn't even get to see the WIN 7 boot logo...it's THAT FAST..it's amazing. I recall someone on this board saying that once I get one SSD, I will want more...and shucks....I WANT MORE!!!!! NOW!!!!!!! Sorry for the outburst, but it's hard to contain the amazement.

It really does fly now the M4 is in especially with my internet connection and seems pretty much as fast as my main rig.

Paul, a Sapphire Vapor-X HD7970 GHZ Edition is nothing to spit on, that is a great GPU. I looked up the specs on it on newegg...3gb of ddr5 ram, 384bit, 2048 Stream Processors...that GPU BLOWS most directx10 and 11 gpus out of the water and hard! I think the worst part about building today's rig was getting the positive + and negative - connections right. I wear glasses and have astigmatism but those tiny positive triangles are very hard to spot on the connections.

I hear ya. My computer budget is at it' low right now. It took me 2 years to save up a descent amount of cash to build a rig and build one I did....but with problems along the way. The first PSU blew, had to swap out the mobo, It turns out the 1st mobo is ok. So I have a backup AMD FX mobo..not bad. I had to purchase a new 27inch LED Samsung monitor, because before I was using a *LCD LED TV* which could only get up to a weird 1370x800 or something resolution. I wasn't going to let my GPU get angry at me for hooking it up to such a crappy TV. My PS3 was getting angry that my new monitor had 1 hdmi input, so I solved that with a HDMI splitter. Little 1 hdmi to TV ------[]= 2 HDMI inputs for2 devices. I can switch between computer and PS3 by the touch of a button. I still haven't added up the exact cost of this rig, but It's starting to look in the 2.5 K euro area Pretty damn steep This is just the computer budget, the UPS cost me another 240.00 Euros, not to mention the cables...those damn digital optical cables cost an arm and a leg...and no...not monster cables...I would have to be a dolt to purchase one of those.
