Intel systems do perform some tasks better, and put up really good numbers, but I just don't know if you are going to see an earth shattering amount of difference in day to day duties. You weren't rocking a slouch before.

    No doubt

The encoding is what i am looking for atm for that is what i been trying to perfect

Just seems like it takes to long on a AMD system i read reviews about encoding power and for the price is was just to good to miss

I would call my change to Intel as big a jump as when I then went to a SSD.

    From what to Intel?

If I am not mistaken, he was going from an AMD 8350 to a 3770K. Day to day tasks won't be the difference between night and day. When you get into specific programs that may take advantage of multiple cores, the Intel will perform better simply because the AMD doesn't have 8 true cores, and Hyperthreading is more substantial than splitting 4 cores into 8 like AMD does. Also, the Intel cores are more powerful and THAT will be noticeable when taxing all of them. If he was going from a dual or quad core AMD to this, yeah, it would be a hell of a difference. He had a solid system before the switch.

I suspect Tommy will notice some nice benchmarks but as you mention the actual speed of some routine tasks will be similar and others will blast past them. I still notice that with my change but all in all it is really......I repeat really hard to knock the 8 core AMD monster and how it over clocks for the money it's still a great option !

Great pics Tommy, even without the cooler. Very clean look. As for the encoding. Last night I just finished encoding 300 DVD movies with Handbrake. You'll find out if you are stable or not with Handbrake. I passed 18 Hours of prime, 12 hours of AIDA and 20 passes of IBT, but the first DVD I put in I BSOD. just keep bumping the Vcore.

That's a great looking rig. You'll like it, I think.
