Exchanged it for the Samsung I have now and it's been fine since. The last thing you want during a new build is about two weeks of downtime waiting on UPS while your rig sits there in pieces!
I know what you mean, Kelly. When I built my Z68 rig, I had to order 4 boards before I got one that didn't have bent CPU pins out of the box. Asus says that's not possible. Every board is inspected before shipping. I told them there were 2 possibilities. #1. You're lying. #2. You need to hire inspectors who know what a bent CPU socket pin looks like. Fortunately, I didn't buy it from Newegg. I bought it from Amazon. I went online for an RMA and was given an RMA immediately, a link to print out a pre paid shipping label and had 30 days to return it. 2 Hours later I received an email from Amazon that the replacement board had been shipped with free 2 day shipping. It can't get much better than that, as long as you buy from Amazon and not one of their vendors.

My ram numbers might go up from 7.7 to 7.9, I ordered Mushkin Enhanced 2 x 8 GB DDR-3-1600 CL9 1.5-Volt 240-pin memory today. It will take a while for it to get here since it's coming from the states though I have used Mushkin ram before on a Phenom II x4 build back in 2009 and that ram was lightning fast, not to mention the black color gives it a great look And for those wondering why I would bother getting another 16gb set of ram since I already have one 16gb corsair set, well..I have a second motherboard that I want to turn into a server. I have some parts ready for it and I will use the Corsair ram on that build and Mushkin on my current.

Good stuff Cranky, in my experience (on an Intel based system) 1600mhz ram would score 7.8, with a slight overclock I managed a 7.9 with it.

Paul.

When I built this rig, my first RMA was the Intel 520 SSD and the Asus Sabertooth motherboard. After testing and eliminating every possibility, somehow the SATA port/chipset/traces went bad because a known good hard drive and a known good SSD gave me 20+ blue screens.

After getting a new motherboard and Intel SSD, it ran like a raped goat for exactly one day before the SSD went bad. Tried with a known good drive to rule out the motherboard again, and everything ran fine. Called Newegg, they said I could exchange it or try another Intel......decided to go with the Samsung 830 and they gave me a code that ended up taking the Samsung down to $100. Got the Samsung drive 2 days later and haven't had a single problem since! Very stressful couple of weeks though I must say.

I have been fortunate, I have never had to RMA anything. Of course I usually go to Frys, I need instant gratification when making a purchase. I ordered my SSD and was in misery waiting for it to arrive. I remember building my first rig..I was in Germany and went to the computer store (don't recall the name of it) I spoke English and they spoke German. We managed it and I was proud of my first build. I enjoyed Germany, lived in Rodenbach and would cook on the grill on weekends and exchange beers and food with the neighbors. We never spoke as I never learned German and they spoke no English, but got along great. Ein beer bitte!!

Good times indeed. Best four and a half years of my life living in Germany. I traveled around and still remember a great drive from Germany through Switzerland to Italy. I was actually born in Germany.
