Old HP Pavilion A1000 (A1108UK) Case, Is it worth putting a new mobo..

In it?, The motherboard looks like a micro ATX (it's pretty small) and im sure the motherboard is a MSI MS-7184 Amethyst (Socket 939 AMD), I'm pretty loving of this computer and i'd hate to trash it, so i thought about maybe saving the case and putting a whole new motherboard and all that in it and making it into a lighter gaming computer (maybe a i3 gaming one) and giving it to someone living in the house .

Troubles are since it's a older HP one, will it be a complete nuisance to remove the motherboard and put another one in? (case is a little small so can feel rather cramped inside, but nothing too bad)

Better off to use a new case. You will probably need a new (larger wattage) power supply as well with a new updated motherboard.

A case need not be an expensive option. Decent, inexpensive cases can be purchased in the US for under $50. Probably similar in the UK.

You may also have to modify the front panel connecting wires. Older boards usually have a proprietary connector where as all the new boards have individual connectors.
