How to overclock i7 in Dell studio 1747?

Hello! I would like to overclock my Intel core i7 720Qm Currently running @ 1.60 GHz.

Is it possible to overclock it? If so how?

AND, if possible could i overclock the GPU and RAM?

My computer specs:

1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 - 1.0 GB
4.0 GB DDR3 SDRAM
Intel Core i7 720QM / 1.6 GHz
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English

Will provide info pictures from CPU-Z if needed.

Is it possible? The sooner i get help, the better! Thanks!

Overclocking a laptop is not a good idea. You just don't have enough cooling capaciity. You would be liable to wreck the whole thing.

If you need more power and want to overclock, a desktop would be a better option. There you have a lot of possibilities to solve the cooling problem and you can start with a much more powerful system.

I should have saved my speech on laptops and cooling by now so I could copy and paste it lol.

But seriously, laptops runs hot as they are, there is next to no air flow and any increase over stock speeds could really increase the temps, but in reality there will be no options for you to do this in the bios (well there isn't on most laptops), you would most likely need to increase the voltage to get a faster speed and there simply are no options to do this in laptop bios.

If you did actually manage to do an overclock on a laptop the speed gains would be so minimal that the performance increase would not be noticeable.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but my advice is to forget about it.

Paul.
