After reading this thread I think the OP needs to do some basic study on OC'ing. The OP does not grasp the fact the cpu's, mobo's and such are designed to meet a minimum spec and these specs are what the manufacturer advertises. There is no guarantee that any cpu or mobo you buy well OC higher than published specs. Every chip is different, some well take a lot more OC than others. Some guys well buy several cpu's and test them, keeping the one the OC's the best.

The speeds the OP is trying to run need exotic cooling that is not being used.

Agreed, the board costs $95 so how good can it be.
I know. That board ain't so pose to go up to 5ghz, but still. The fact that's its stable at stock CPU speeds tell me that its the CPU. If not, then I'll buy a new board.

I have that board, and it's half decent for everyday use. I'm not OCing my rig right now, but I won't be using this board if I do. It isn't good enough for a significant OC. It's probably why the OP is having problems. Aside from inadequate cooling and an over-pushed CPU.

OK let me get a few things straight. The 4.6 oc is not pushing. 4.8wpuld be pushing. My temps are 100% fine. I have an an h80i with 6 case fans. The 5.2ghz oc was just for sh!yes amdgiggles. No intention for stability there. It barley boot amdthat was all I needed.

Like I have said before have to spend that extra $$$$ and just get a Sabertooth that way you can rule out the board and cpu all together

Sorry, but a 700 MHz OC is a significant OC, and taking it to 5.2 is really pushing it. It doesn't matter if it was stable or not, the voltage you had to use to get it there could have seriously harmed the CPU. And your temps are not fine, IMHO. It isn't a good thing to run a CPU at its max temp for any length of time and it's probably why you're getting shutdowns when you do. If you're hitting your CPU's max temp when OC'ing, it means that you likely have inadequate cooling for the speed that you're using, or there is a problem with your cooling. Heat and over-voltage are the #1 killers of anything electronic, and I know this because I work with electronics everyday.

madcratebuilder gave some good advice. I suggest that you read it again. You need to research overclocking a bit more before you destroy your hardware.

ill be OCing to 4.4 this time if that makes you all happy.

btw, at 5.2ghz, my cpu got to just under 50C. that was the hottest it ran. the most stressfull thing i did was open cpu-z and IE. thats was it. however i did push a lot of volts into it.
