OMG, Asus sent me back the same board I sent to them, I just knew they would do that.

They probably put 1 stick of memory in and said, hey this board works fine, and shipped it out.

I am now attempting to set up another RMA.
I RMA a board to them and they sent me a board where non of the PCI slots work. It was better than the one that was dead but basically useless except for running a CPU and a graphics card. I scrapped it.
If you ever get a problem with ASUS you are royally screwed. There service dept in Louisville (actually the Indiana part of the metro area) are completely useless. I would not trust them to change a fuse. I do like their boards and if I have to RMA any others I don't know what I am going to do. It is disgraceful that their warranty service is so bad and it has been like it for years. If you Google it the web is full of horror stories and they do not care.

    Not good mate
You're probably right on that Brian. That's how they get RAM on their QVL list, if it will POST with a particular RAM installed, at stock speed of course, it's qualified.

Ya it is, but I`ve read about there horrendous service and I`m not gonna get upset over it.

The thing is, I seriously doubt if they have any new boards, just re certified and so that`s what they are gonna keep sending people who RMA their boards. They`re not gonna give away anything for free.

AddRam, call the customer service. I got much better services that way. If you can, ask for an advanced RMA. They send you a new board (at least it looks new and in original packaging) but require a credit card in case you don't send the old one back. The Advanced RMA will come out of a warehouse in Calif.

That`s exactly what I did Steve, now I have to wait for an email from Asus letting me know if they have a Sabertooth.

Good job then Brian. Have you tried it to see if it works? Miracles do happen, you know? Personally, I can't imagine Asus not having one.If they say they don't have one, I would ask which better board do you have to replace this one with? As Paul suggested, that would put you in the Maximus category. If you will just talk right to them and tell them this one burned up and maybe add the other components it took with it. and that you have already paid shipping once to send it back, they will pay for the shipping. They did it for me twice on my board. I would suggest to talk to them and be nice but use logic with them. That worked for me. The problem with Asus usually is, customer support, especially on the phone, is pretty good. But, the break down comes with the technical support who actually do the repairs to the boards. I have 3 z77 boards and have always called and been nice, but firm with them and have had good help from CS. It's Tech support I have the issues with. When you find out what they say, PM me and let me know what's going on. After 5 RMAs of one of my Maximus boards, I may be able to give you some tips. I have a Sabertooth too, as do quite a few others here. If you can get a good one from them, they are excellent boards.

I know what you mean, being in the IT field I`ve learned to sweet talk my customers and tell them what they want to hear. I`ll just give it a few days and see what happens.

Here is one of my dreams.
I have never had a problem with Intel anything so I don't know if their RMA is good or bad.
I would like to see them get back into the motherboard business.
That means motherboard of all kinds including quality O/C motherboards. Make them market targeted and of the quality I have always got from Intel.
That would make the other motherboard manufactures stand up on their hide legs and take notice and that would be better for all of us.

I would be happy to pay more for hardware that does what it is advertised to do without having to use 3 RMS's to get the job done.

Most that have been here a while no I'm not a rich person and have to save quite a while to make a new system. I will save a little longer to get quality and reliability.

Companies won't have RMA problems if they make quality.
Companies should remember that customers don't want RMA's anymore the they do. Quality is what customers want.

Honestly Companies mass produce these products even with Quality control it is hard to pinpoint every thing that could go bad with it

Everything we use down to shoe's we wear have a life span and some other issues along the way

You can't trust Intel or AMD to make quality boards either it's really luck of the draw or even how you treat the components or better yet component failure on the MB it happens

We trouble shoot issues all the time and honestly it's just one of those things only thing we can hope now is that Brian get's justice and a board that is functioning properly to his wishes

What we must remember here is most of this stuff (Electronics) is pretty delicate you have Shock ,Oils from hands and Water dangers also if not grounded properly as well

Besides he had that board for a while before it crapped out like that so it wasn't like it blew up after it was installed
