Question on crossfire and Power Supply

Hi everyone. This may sound dumb, and I feel I should know this but I want to double check.
(All info in my sig)

I currently have the following Power supply:

Rosewill Stallion Series RD700 700W ATX12V V2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply - Newegg.com

I have this graphics card:

ASUS HD7870-DC2-2GD5-V2 Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Newegg.com

I want to know if it is possible (if I am able to with my setup) to crossfire 2 of those 7870's with a little room to spare of power. Meaning I am not super stressing my rig.

On a kinda related note, I am thinking about getting this power supply to cut down on my electric bill.

Is the current PSU I have now good enough? Or should I go ahead and update to the one I am considering at a higher wattage? I also like the fact the second PSU is modular. Will help a ton with my cable management.

If my current PSU is fine for the task, then I'll stick with that. Otherwise I will go with the one I'm thinking and get better wattage and energy savings.

Should be fine to crossfire both cards is a minimum of a 600w PSU you have 700w it should be alright

My question would be what is the efficiency rating of this PSU as Rosewill has kindly left that spec off ! Also not sure whom has built this for them but it's reviews are mixed at best. I agree with Solar that this PSU should be able to handle these two cards but in my mind I would start a new PSU fund and upgrade to a host of premium PSU's in the near future.

Are you slightly hinting that my power supply sucks? I haven't had any issues with it.....

No not saying that it sucks but further look into it's actual manufacturer and it's efficiency would be smart. If it's a Silver, Gold or Platinum rating at those levels then no worry even Bronze but when the rating is missing all together then ? My gut would say look to change it out with a solid Gold performer within 1-2 years or sooner. I'm just one of those that believe the PSU is the heart blood of the rig.

Thank you linnemeyerhere, I will keep that in mind. I was probably going to wait a few months before doing the crossfire anyway. So I might just wait until I get a better PSU and then do it. Might as well.

I also might look into contacting rosewill and find out what efficiency it is.

You should have power head room for a while I'm just of the belief that more power reserves the better and keep in mind that all PSU's degrade about 2-3% or more per year. Good news is platforms are becoming somewhat more efficient but at the enthusiast level we still use a far share of power !

That's good to hear of it's 80 gold rating. Rosewill as Neweggs or Ultra as TigerDirects house brands are trying to make affordable solutions. I have three Ultra's back when they had/have lifetime warranties and they are working well. Since those purchases I've bought Corsair and Seasonic brands and been very happy as well. My mind set today is different from my first build as I see the PSU as a key core component.

It's 80 PLUS GOLD Certified, so it meets that minimum efficiency rating. This is a good site for reviews.

Rosewill is making a name for it's self by offering quality products in there given price point.

I am glad to hear it is. I have been happy with this psu so far, hasn't given me any issues. Bu then again I have only had it 6 months. I did look heavily into reviews from all kinds of sites and the general conclusion was it was very exceptional for the price. I am not sure why some recent newegg reviews are bad, maybe there is a bad batch or something. But the one I got works great. (Again, so far)
