Considering Laptop Purchase-Would Like Some Advice

Guy has an ASUS Q500A, I5 3230, Win 8, UEFI, etc, for $350.
I believe this is a refurb unit.
My concern is he has no OS disc and no recovery partition.
He says the HD was formatted and he'll make a disc of the iso.
I'm concerned about activating the OS and any other advice you may have.
    What think ya'll ?

    Depends on your use?
The processor should be more than enough for the standard home user, Windows 8 can be a bit hard to get used to if your familiar with pretty much any other version of windows, can be buggy at times and hard to use. But it will be the same as everything else, you will get used to it and im sure it has its pro's too, Id also ask him if he could load and activate the OS for you just to be sure everythings working, for the home user, id say it would be more than adequate providing you can get the os loaded and working properly, I read that for the laptop brand new its around $620 for the version you specified, im sure there will be other people with more knowledge on the subject, Good luck mate
