    OCing RAM & CPU/NB


    ok so i started the task of OCing both these. i got ram from 1866 9-10-9-28 to 2133 10-11-10-32 with a ~100MB/S increase. ive tried to shoot for 2400MHz and it wont boot no matter what timings and voltage. so i started to try the CPU/NB and got it from 2200MHz to 2400MHz. i got ~1000MB/s increase from that at 1.18v.

    overall i went from 24343.42MB/s to 25361.39MB/s

    but i want MORE!!!!

    i tried to set CPU/NB to 2600MHz with 1.268v. is that too high of a voltage?

    I don't think any chip but the 8300 have 2600NB and HT

    The other one's are at 2400 and even if you clock it can't go above 2500 without having stability issues

    You can drop the multi and use that to go up which obviously is what you are doing right ?

    When overclocking AMD you have to stay as close to stock HT and NB stock as possible going over hurt performance so you have to balance it out most i have used with my 8350 was 2665 something like that not more then that because it starts tripping out lol

    No. I'm not touching multi or FSB. Just those settings. HT is at 2400. I can't go higher than that. But the CPU/NB I can bring up to 3200mhz. But at 2600mhz it's rock solid. Just is 1.268v too high? Do know that this is the memory controller IN the CPU. Not the mobo NB.

    at 2400MHz HT Link, 2600MHz CPU/NB, 2133MHz RAM, im getting 26780.12 MB/s. as compared to my stock 24350.00 MB/s. but my only consirn is that CPU/NB is running at 1.268V as compared to the stock 1.172v.

    is that voltage ok?

    also, my ram timings at 1866mhz is 9-10-9-28. my ram timings at 2133mhz is 10-11-10-32. i get 100 MB/s difference between 1866 and 2133. do you think running at 2133 is worth that extra 100mb/s? or should i lower to 1866mhz to get lower latency?

    Technically it should be fine it's way under 1.3 that is the limit buddy

    100% sure? Also want about ram? Should I lower it to 1866? Is it worth the higher latency for 100mb/s?

    Just so you'll know N00ber some people say you can run it as high as CPU V-core but i wouldn't try it

    1.375 is supposedly max safe voltage for NB

    How come I can't get my ram to 2400mhz? Even at 12-12-12-38 timings and 1.6v it still fails.

    2133 is about the max for this ram I read. So I'm going to put it at 2600mhz CPU/NB an play with the ram at 1866 and 2133 and timings. At 2133 I'm running 10-11-10-32 but I want to try 9-11-10-28, T1, at 1.5v
