Britton30 offered great advise. Get all your new parts together, set everything at default and run the system for awhile, make sure you do not have any bugs, hardware or software. Do some bench scores to establish a base line of the default settings. Then start your OC, one thing at a time and keep a written record of setting and results.

Yep, your system has to be stable before you start OCing

doing the Overclock now. so far, so good. just started up prime and running it at the 4.2 at 1.176v with a max of 64C on the hottest core.... how does that sound temp vs voltage wise? also, i notice in windows after i OC that it does not say 4.2. it says 3.5 still. is that right? i know its at 4.2 cause CPUz is telling me.... but shouldent it change in windows? like my AMD chip changed in windows when i changed the multiplier....

    EDIT: 1.160v now.... testing

still testing, but what do you guys think CPU power phase control should be on? Standard or Optimized?

currently im at 1.136v in prime at 4.2 at 62C on the hottest core...

also debating on LLC... medium or high for 24/7? lol

    anyway... so far so good!

    CPU power phase, Optimized
    LLC, High.
Actually all your questions can be answered in the guide I posted a link to earlier.
