Windows 7: voltage bouncing from A to B

voltage bouncing from A to B

when i have my cpu voltage set to 1.36875 in the bios, i boot into the OS and HWMonitor and CPU-Z read it as a steady, unchanging 1.368(75 <-- not shown).

my mobo cpu voltage says it goes up in .006250 increments, so i plus up to the next level, it goes to 1.375000. it sets and stays at that voltage because i reboot and its still where i set it, but to the left of the setting, it says its still at 1.368. i can take a pic if its confusing. when i get into the OS, HWMonitor and CPU-Z bounce from 1.368 to 1.380, even when prime95 testing. why is this? is this normal?

should i just go on up to 1.380?

same thing happens going lower too. i set it to 1.36250, and it sets fine in the bios, but programs indicate bouncing from 1.356 to 1.368

Don't worry about it, voltage will fluctuate. It takes Prime about 30 minutes to stabilize.

I said voltage will fluctuate, that is go up, go down. Mine does it all the time, nothing to be concerned about in any way. The software is reading from the board and is most likely correct.

hmm...ok then, i guess i just dont understand why it fluctuates at some voltages i set, and it doesnt fluctuate at others. probably just the motherboard design?

It's just the nature of electricity. If you had a volt meter attached to your wall plug you'd see it vary too.
