Windows 7: How to change case fan speed?

"...my computer sounds like a jet engine." I have my desktop fan[s] set for max-speed at all times. Heat being an enemy of electronics, I would much rather hear jet engines all day rather than someday hear the sound of a mobo sky-frying [cue Asteraoid movie].

RolandJS,
Start with replacing all your fans with quality low noise fans like Noctua's or other quiet fan brands. Or you can also consider programs like speed fan or place an inline resistor to back the full speed down, expect only a couple of degree increase but many db reduction !

Hi RolandJS.

I agree with linnemeyerhere.
Quality fan is the proper starting place. The fans recommended have a good reputation for being quality and quiet.

I use Noctua fans and Phantek case fans on the system in my specs. Their are 14 of them running at 100% all the time and the system is quiet.

What case fans are you using and what CPU cooler are you using?
