Sorry Drew, I certainly won't offer any, possibly, useable alternatives to your posts in the future mate.
Sorry you take it that way. I did explain what I was looking for in the original post.

I see what you mean about the "true" 8-pin connector. The 2-pin part of a 6+2 pin PCIe connecter adds only two more ground/common/earth connections. Have the PSU end with 8 connectors is really no benefit, the same ground runs throughout the computer.
You do have a point, but I prefer to have those pins connected as opposed to just dangling. Plus for me it's all about aesthetics, which is the point of building a clean system.

Obsessive... yeah, but why is a company like NZXT making a killing on "premium" cables

It all good though. And I note your frustration in closing your customer service thread :)

    Peace

Anyway I think you guys are missing the point of my post. I'm not looking for alternatives, and if you read my post, you'd see I have a solution. I'm asking if you had to pay for the cable I described in my opening post, how much would you pay. Forget the fact that black cables didn't come with the PS.
I buy all my custom cables from this guy, "Ensourced custom sleeved cables", he has a evilbay store. 4, 6, 6+2, and 8 pin cost between 6 and 8 bucks for 50cm length. He can do custom requests, any color, any length, any connection. Superb workmanship and prices are competitive with Chinese imported cables.

I haven't found a better solution for custom installations, I'm doing a theme build "Ole Glory" and Ensourced supplied all the cabling is red, white and blue.

Yup, any/all cases with fans vibrate.
    Noc's don't.

I can't fathom fan vibration causing paint to flake. Really?

The extra ground wires are very important on these high current gpu's. At this high of current a inadequate ground can cause the existing ground wire(s) to overheat and melt. This has been a major problem with high current PSU's running block erupter blades and cubes, the oem wiring was 2 ground wires, but users soon discovered that with 2 grounds they would melt, the solution is add 2 more ground wires.

Manufacturers do not add extra wiring for shins and giggles, if the design engineer adds two more ground wires, it's for a reason.

Yes, really. Unless the paint is securely bonded to the surface (which is unlikely for a home application on a cable), even low level vibrations will eventually cause it to flake, especially on a surface that will flex, such as a cable.

Great point, and also why I want a "true" 8-pin to 6+2 cable. I'm currently using NZXT's extension cables which only provides a 6-pin connector to the EVGA's 6+2 pin cable on one end, while providing the 6+2 pin connection to the GPU. I should add that my GPU requires two 8-pin connections.

To get an idea of what I'm talking about look closely at the red cables, you'll notice the "extra" ground wires on both cables aren't being used because the NZXT cables only provides a 6-pin connection at that end...

EVGA, may be readying for a solution, thus my question...

Specifically if you had to pay, what would it be? Is 24/11.99 too high, too low, or just right? Why?

Again, if EVGA were selling these what would you pay?
For those not understanding the question, please read/re-read the original post.

    Thanks.

This is really confusing Drew. If your GPU uses 2 8-pin connectors, there are
    none hanging loose?

Never mind, I see you're meaning the extension cable to PCIe cable connection.

That's ok Gary, trust me, I have my moments too

Anyway now you see where I'm coming from, and it really is hard to find a true 8-pin to 6+2 pin PCIE cable. I actually ordered two ATX 12V CPU cables but found out quickly those don't fit. Besides returning them, I looked like a fool

I actually found what I want here: Akasa FLEXA V8 8-Pin PCI-E Single Braid Extension Cable

but they're out of stock, return yet to be determined...

Decent price Drew. I'd have to zip tie them, I'm OCD about "loose: wires like that.

So am I Gary. Notice the GPU wire bundle here. Those are the same type cables, other than being 6-pin on one end. Zip tied those bad boys

6 or 8 pin or any PC connector, any color, any length, sleeved or unsleeved, made in USA, less money than imports. Per earlier link.

I found out some time ago the CPU (EPS12V) connectors are keyed differently than the PCIe connectors. Good thing, the EPS has 4 12V+4 ground, while the 8-pin PCIe has 3 12V+5 grounds.
