How hot should the MOBO DRM's Be?

    26°C in your room is pretty hot, mine stays average max 20°C - 23°C even in early summer. That said you could check the motherboard fan headers available on yours.

    For the CPU I have plug with an "Y" cables, 2x4pins 120mm PWM fans with the CPU AirCooler in push/pull in the main CPU_Fan. Better airflow, then.

    PS: My motherboard chipset is average 43°C - to 47°C when overclocking, looks your temps are OK for that. Considering the VRMs they can get hot, maybe try to increase the cooling solution on them.

    Have an Noctua NH U14s and i have one of them Y PWM splitters so YAY less cost!
    But then i just need to buy 2 PWM noctuas wich well... Is not very cheap but i really want noctuas due to their Vibrationdampening, And that they match my Cpu cooler too.. And they are like the Cadilac of fans

    Noctuas have good Rep!

    Your motherboard have:
    1. 1 x CPU fan header
    2. 2 x system fan headers
    3. 1 x power fan header
    You can save with the PWM "Y" cable, one fan header. The 2 Fans have to match exactly the same specs when plug with an "Y" Cable, otherwise it might report wrong infos when rotating.

    Is it normal for the chipset and Vrm heatsinks beeing hot to the touch?
    Temps should be in the 20 to low 30C when lightly loaded. With a heavy load I would like to be no higher then 50-55C. GPU and GPU VRM's can deal with higher temps. Your 8350 should never be allowed higher than 61C. I don't know about the 970 chips but the 990 chip set can have high NB temps, lot of users add a tiny heatsink/fan for added cooling. Some add a 50-80mm fan to the back side of the board to cool cpu and vrm's.

    I like using a free open source hardware monitor.. passing it along .. for you.. you can even pin it to the task bar.. : Open Hardware Monitor - Core temp, fan speed and voltages in a free software gadget

    The infos are very vague on that Power Fan Header, but looks it used to be for power supply that have such connectors. You should be able to plug and monitor a case fan with it also. The best is to try out and see in bios setting what speed it does report

    Why shouldnt i let the 8350 go over 61c?
    Also without overclock the Noctua Nh u14s keeps it at no more than 45c at 99% load

    UPDATE:
    I ran 3dmark 11 with the Open Hardware Monitor in the background..
    Here are my 3Dmark Results if anyone is interested.
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 video card benchmark result - AMD FX-8350,Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. 970A-DS3P

    ( The Voltages i removed becouse it only showed the battery ( 3.192 ) so i could get space for the Gpu fan speed.)

    Also i took a screenshot of the temps about 3-4 minutes after the benchmark
    and the reason for the cpu beeing 100% is becouse of i ran Prime a bit to see the temp for it... But in 3dmark 11 it only hit max 88% usage

    Chassifans where set to 7V instead of 5V. But i ramp them up to 7V while gaming

    Becouse if then thats REALLY good considering this is a 970 chipset that isnt made for overclocking at all but it does support it. So i used to run my cpu at 4.2 ghz but i removed it when my psu whent bad and i havent set it back to the 4.2Ghz even now when i got a RM650W psu

    First of all why did you OC it to 4.2 it does that on stock turbo

    In a sense you didn't overclock anything you just maxed out the stock configuration any more and you would of ran into trouble most boards for that chip are 8+2 phase out of the box it's 4 ghz turbo 4.2
