Hello Harribo,

What kind of difference were you hoping for or expecting?

Adding RAM will not increase the performance of a PC. It comes in useful when you are using programs which may take (in your case) the total RAM usage to 4GB where before the whole system would bog down and come to a standstill. But now with the extra 4GB you should not need to worry about that ever happening.

Hope that makes sense, I don't think I worded it very well lol.

Paul.

Pretty much to break it down you will not notice anything unless you are using programs that need more then 2GB of ram to run it

Most typical browsers and apps take maybe 2.2GB of ram programs like Adobe premier might take 5 GB to run leaving your system with 1gb left on standby and you will be pretty much maxing it out but if you are not running extensive apps then 8GB is way plenty

Within reasonable limits adding RAM will improve performance. But there will always be a point of diminishing returns beyond which there will be no noticeable gains. With most workloads you will already be past that point with 4 GB RAM.

Once you start piling the programs into memory, you will see how much quicker they can open.
