Need help choosing a intel CPU

Hi,ok so lets start by saying that i have no idea for what to go other than a intel i7 4th gen, main focus is gaming so what should i go with, without spending more than i should ?
what makes a cpu better than the other ? as far as i can tell its the number such as 4770 the higher the better ? also at the end of the cpu it says 8mb,10mb,15mb etc the higher the better ? speed clocks ?

the parts that i already have :

    asus gtx 770 2gb oc
    Evga supernova 850w
    Corsair hydro h80i

If you want the best price-performance, the cheapest cpu you can get without bottlenecking your GPU in my opinion is the Core i5-4690, or 4690K if overcloking. If you are going to do things other than gaming that are more CPU intensive, you should go with at least a i7-4770 since it has hyper-threading and just more threads in general for things like video rendering that uses multiple threads.

Please clarify or give an example what you mean by that.

Not much reason to go with an i7 if your main focus is gaming unless you have money to burn.

The (put number here)MB is the amount of cache the CPU has. You do not need a very big amount if you are not using software that focuses on the CPU, like games, which use mostly the GPU.

    2 Great cpu`s but 2 totally different motherboards 1155 socket vs 1150 .

I would say go with the latest gen cpu as Z77s are getting hard to find

    I don`t see a 4570k Patrick, only a 4670k
