I might be wrong but this hotfix specifies Bulldozer CPU's and my FX-8320 is a Piledriver CPU. Does it still apply?

Also, what exactly does this hotfix do? Disable core parking?

When I get back to my desktop, should I install this hotfix?

I noticed 4 of mine are parked as well and I am wondering If I should install that hotfix to disable parking.

The hotfix does not disable Core Parking, what it does is treat AMD's bulldoze/piledrive CPUs as it does for Intel's processors with Hyper-Threading. By that it uses the real CPU cores first before using the virtual cores.

Great, I just installed the hotfix. Thanks for the clarification.

I wonder if I will actually be able to notice any real difference...

I don't see why it's such a big deal. If the CPU doesn't have anything to do, why generate the extra heat? They can turn back on in one cycle so it's not like you're loosing any processing power. It's still faster than any other piece of hardware in your machine, including memory. With today's multi-core and faster CPUs, they can easily run out of stuff to do on an average PC. They run when they have something to do and don't when there's not, simple as that. If you have CPUs parking, you probably should go back to a Pentium because you're not using the power it has now.

If you have a current generation AMD Processor. Yes. This hotfix was made specifically to counter act the performance problems faced with the new architecture.

Intresting. Says I already have it installed. When going to the page it seems to indicate it was included in sp1
