    Will these components work together?

hi, im thinking of upgrading my laptop to a PC. just i dont know if the parts i picked would work together .. wondering if anyone would give me any advice

    Motherboard
M5A99X EVO Rev 2.0 AMD Asus AM3+ Motherboard

    CPU
AMD FX-8 9370 Black Edition 8 Core AM3+ 4.7GHz Max Turbo OEM Processor

    RAM

Corsair Memory Vengeance Pro Series Red 8GB DDR3

    Graphic Card

XFX Radeon R9 280X Double Dissipation Black Edition 3GB AMD

    CPU Cooler

    Corsair H100i Performance Watercooler

    PSU

Corsair HX850i 850W Full Modular Power Supply

im putting all of it in a Fractel Design Arc XL, and using a Kingston 128 GB SSD as a boot drive and games, and using a 1TB DW as a mass storage drive

    thanks for any advice

I think most of the components will work together but with the cooler I am a tad unsure, in the compatibility it says it supports AM3 but not AM3+ though I'm not sure if this would be the same as with Intel's LGA2011 and 2011v3, where a cooler that supports 2011 would also support the v3.

That is what I know, hope it helps a bit! :)

The AM3 and AM3+ sockets aren't physically different in terms of form factor. In other words, the cooler will fit fine. The difference in the two sockets is the number of pins, the AM3+ socket has more pins in it, but the processor size is the same, and the heatsink mount is the same.

Unless the H100i is woefully underpowered, it should adequately cool that processor. I don't have direct experience with the Corsair line, but it should work just fine.
