Just swapped some RAM in the rig. Still has the flashing Power-on light and no bood. Sounds like the board is toast. Time to RMA that thing! Ffs

Did you try resetting Cmos or take out the Battery
    and put it back ?
    I did.

I talked with Asus today and they asked me to take the board out of the case and try to turn it on. To see if it could be short to the casing. I havent had time for that now but will do. If it still doesnt work, I'll have to claim RMA.

I know this thread is old, but the button you described sounds like an on board power button. It is usually solid red when it has stand by power. There are LEDs for the ram on some boards and what Solar told you about them are true.

You are right. Although the thread isnt that old. I received the new board yesterday. I had contacted ASUS which made me test the board out of the case and called it dead so I sent in RMA.

Put everything back in, then started her. Booted succesfully and made it to the desktop within seconds. Everything works fine with the new motherboard !
