    ratio only overclock

    so i did rather basic cpu overclock a few hours ago seems fine temp dosnt relly go past 50c so its gone up 10 proformance seems good i dont really plan on going any further really than the 4.3 that its at dont relly have anyting but the stock fans and a few extra fans + the exasut fan

    how ever since i am pretty much a noob i was wondering if its normal for the volts to be jumping from 0.160-245-300 700 - 800 eg wili idling in firefox ? the multplier jumps from 41 to 43 , and the core speed is somthing like 116-207-307

    the results are in CPU Z

    using a i74770k fitted to a Z87

    Are you just Turboing up to 4.3 or do you have it at a constant 4.3 ?

    If you have just OC`d the Turbo then yes the volts and the core speed will constantly change as you do things on the pc.

    But sitting at idle your core speed and volts should stay relatively calm.

    I have no idea what a 4770K clocks down to. (a member with a 4770K will have to confirm)

    A 4790K at idle.

    that is to say i ticked the option " ratio only" in the bios , i have a few things running in the background but i terms of idle volts go to the following numbers that i listed in the blink of an eye - it dosnt stay on those numbers it flickers again and again again, im not sure what a stable overclock looks like besides not crashing .....
