Hello, does it have preloaded software or do you have to buy new software.

    1. Go with cash, tuck away $50..and see if he will take $700.00.

    2. Do not let them know you must have it. You know be a little uninterested. Don't pull out all the money, just pull $700.00 and dingle it in his face and he will probable take the $700.00....

    Hi,
I personally wouldn't be buying a computer off of CL you have no warrantee for #1
#2 there's no way of telling if the windows version is valid so you might end up getting another system builders too which adds another 100.us
#3 you might get robbed for your trouble by him or his buddies behind door #2

Parts wise :/ I don't know you'd have to lookup every part to see current sells prices.

In terms of cost vs retail, yes that is a good offer. (The Cpu is $400 alone - GPU is about $500).

I am concerned that the guy is selling that for a HUGE loss...

Also, the PSU, it does not look like it is enough for the system! That should be running at least a 600Mw+...

Again a reflection of prior comments about the software.

Short answer, no do not trust...

Looks decent except for the PSU and GPU. Go for it and upgrade those.

    I would stress caution
This is a build from an Armature builder and from CL to boot
This thing could last 5 minutes or 5 years and you have no warrantee of either so the key word here is Run away

700.us to upgrade anything is dicey at best
You could do that with a dell.... and have a 1-2 year warrantee and ultimately have no chance of bubba jumping out of a closet and taking your money and leaving you a blood stump for your trouble.

    Shop better.

Well I understand your point Mike, but I would think he would look at it first before buying it. If the seller is an avid builder as he said, he will have the boxes that the components came in. It would be very easy to boot it up and see if it is in good shape, make sure windows is valid...etc

I would never buy a computer off of Craigs List.

You don't know how long it has been used or how it was used.
You don't know if it was stolen.
Unless you live close where you can inspect it before you buy, you don't really know what you will get.

All you will know is your money is gone.

    Thank you guys a bunch.

I think I'll ask more about the warranty. Do I just need the receipts and I should be good?

Obviously I tried to haggle and got it down to $750, and I will meet at a public place, as long as I have the receipts, I don't think I need to test it (I'd rather meet at a public place than test it). I'll record everything with a camera too.

EDIT: Oh and he said the PSU is 550.
