bitcoin and litecoin mining question

hi I live in nys and we have huge regulations on bitcoin mining and we need to but a licence ........ is litecoin a viable option and is there mining software I can use that is not by bitcoin? would building a pc for this use be worth it?

Hi buff,

Well first you need to download and install the wallet and after that you have to find and register in a pool, of course you can do solo mining but the current difficulty, I wouldn't recommend it.

Then you need a mining software and it will depend on what GPU you are going with, AMD cards interestingly enough bring more to the table in mining, but here is a link to a list of mining software: https://litecoin.info/Mining_software

When I did my mining I used this: https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=2924.0

And remember that Litecoin is based on Scrypt and Bitcoin on SHA264, so if have purchased these USB ASICs they will only work with mining Bitcoin if not specified differently.

Question can I mine lite pin without using anything for Bitcoin? Like wallet software etc?
