Glad to hear you got one that works, and yeah that is probably coded into the fan so it wont cause excessive wear on the motor.

There is a setting\tick box that causes the fan speeds to ramp up a specific number of RPM's per (5?) seconds if I remember. I can state that the Noctua's in my system do that for sure under load as there is an audible rise in the fan speed "noise" (and resultant on screen outputs via Rainmeter) to back this up. Will look for you in the morning to see if I can narrow it down but from memory it was in the initial set up of the individual fans from memory (pub impaired)!
I tried setting the delta setting to max.. and smallest value... and no difference? It still ramps up or down VERY slowly.... Almost too slow to cool my CPU in time..
With it set to manual and disabled automatic.. Changing between 100% fan speed and 0% fan speed directly by inputting the numbers takes forever.. It takes ages to slow down or speed up..
Is this just part of how the computer fan controller reacts to an input change?
When my computer boots up at first. the fan ramps up to full for a split second then goes straight to idle speed. so I know it CAN adjust quickly... but with speedfan it adjusts veery slowly. regardless of delta value or anything..
Using a potentiometer with a transistor and resistor. I can adjust the fan speed instantly as soon as i turn the knob. so its got to be speedfan or the computer board/fan controller circuit..
Are you using the fan controls tab or just the speeds tab? My delta is at 6 and makes my fans ramp fast.
Ive tried every fan control tab that exists. and I have used fan control tab (the advanced fan control one?) and its pretty slow to speed up.. even with GPU-Z render test and prime95 running at the same time... Takes several seconds to even hear it audibly increase in speed...
and oh boy do i have aggressive settings chosen... Even tried dragging the points to 100% fan speed after 39*C and it is still painfully slow to adjust regardless of delta setting..
Tried turning off automatic control and changing back and forth between 45% and 100% in the main window... Still super slow to adjust...
When I change it from software controlled to smart guardian.. the fan wavers between 1,000RPM and 2400RPM in a balancing act slowly... regardless of temperature..
If I have it in smart mode and put my finger to stop the fan for even a second.. and let go. it instantly speeds up. but the same does not happen in automatic=software mode it just slowly goes between whatever it tries to change too..
Ive tried setting the delta from 15% 1% 99% 50% 25% and have almost no difference in how fast the fan speeds up at all..
Tried changing between "sum of speeds" and "max of speeds" with no difference really either..
Also tried using the generic "speeds tab fan settings instead of the advanced fan control settings and it still is slow to adjust to the specified value shown in speedfan.
Do you not get a manual mode under the mode drop down? Can you disable auto fan control in your bios, it might be overriding speedfan.
I can change the fan speed manually. it works. but is very slow to adjust to what i specify. though it does work. such as disabling automatic fan control checkbox and manually inputting a fan speed%
No bios options like overclocking. FSB. Fan. memory. GPU or anything. generic acer bios too. Barely any temperature information.. Only fan RPM listed. Not adjustable in any way from the bios. no setting. Only "Smart fan" or "Disable(something)" but neither have any affect on fan speed or fan control..
